1. Introduction

Out Here is a pickup sports and nightlife community app for Hampton Roads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who touches it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we show no ads, and we never sell your data.

2. Information We Collect

Everything we collect, you give us directly:

• Email, name, and date of birth (self-reported) when you sign up
• Optional phone number and location text if you add them to your profile
• Profile choices — sports you play, colors, emoji character
• Parent or guardian contact information for users aged 14–17
• Content you post — text posts, videos, comments, events, leagues, venues, fields
• Game and event participation, RSVPs, and check-ins
• Notification preferences
• Aura ledger entries — a record of every Aura credit and debit on your account

3. How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

• Run your account and show your profile, posts, and stats to the community
• Organize games, leagues, and events, and verify check-ins
• Enforce age rules — sport-only mode for 14–17, 18+ for Aura stakes
• Notify a parent or guardian by email when a 14–17 year old signs up
• Keep the Aura ledger accurate and settle stakes
• Review reported content and enforce our terms
• Send you the notifications you have turned on
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data lives in Supabase, our auth and database provider, protected by row-level security and encrypted in transit. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but access to your data is restricted to what the app needs.

5. Sharing Your Information

We never sell your personal data, and there are no ads and no third-party ad trackers on Out Here. Your information is shared only with:

• Other users — whatever you post, plus your public profile, is visible in the app
• Supabase — auth and database infrastructure
• Resend — delivers our emails (signup, parent notification, account emails)
• Vercel Analytics — aggregate page counts only, no ad tracking, no personal profiles
• Legal authorities — when required by law

There is no social login — you sign in with your email, and no social network learns anything about your account.

6. Location

If you allow it, we use your device’s location in your browser to sort fields, games, and venues by distance. That happens on your device only — your coordinates are never stored on our servers.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information — most of it is editable in your profile and settings
• Delete your account yourself in Settings under Danger Zone — deletion is immediate and removes all of your data
• Opt out of notifications in settings

8. Teens and Kids

You must be at least 14 to have an Out Here account — we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14, and if we learn an account belongs to someone under 14 we delete it. Users aged 14–17 get the sport experience only, with no nightlife features, and we collect a parent or guardian’s contact information and notify them by email at signup. Kids under 14 on league rosters exist only as “ghost player” roster entries added by their coach or organizer — they have no account and give us no information themselves.

9. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. Analytics is Vercel Analytics — aggregate counts of page visits with no ad tracking and no cross-site profiles. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
